MY APPROACH

When I work with families, I stress the need for fun. Portrait sessions can be very intimidating, especially if you think that your kids should be perfect. I am a great believer in letting kids direct the shoot. I love un-posed, natural shots. I have had many clients leave sessions worried that we haven’t gotten a thing and boy are they surprised when they see their session proofs! Know that if we work together, I will love your children and they will leave thinking they have just had the best time ever! (Even teenagers like my sessions most of the time.) I look forward to the challenges that face me when babies refuse to smile, toddlers run across the room or teenagers give me attitude. I was a nursery school teacher , am a mom of three grown kids and a newly minted grandma. Nothing fazes me because I really have seen it all.

DETAILS

WHAT TO BRING:

Your sense of humor is a must!

Snacks for hangry kids

Favorite toys, blankets or books that you don't mind seeing in the photographs

An extra outfit or two in case you want to go for different looks

A hairbrush to make those locks look lovely

WHAT TO WEAR

I am not a big fan of the "matchy matchy" look in my images. I recommend staying in the same tonal range (i.e. all light or all dark) but don't think it is necessary to match. White is tough because it can wash you out and also trick the camera. Avoid bold patterns and stripes because that is all you will see in the photos - little people's beautiful faces will get lost in the chaos of patterns. My images are clean, classic and casual so keep your clothes simple and basic and I guarantee you will love the results.

Feel free to contact me if you have questions about clothing. I'm here to help make your session the best it can be.
